Privilege escalation
Going from limited access to more powerful access, such as from a normal user to administrator.
Attackers rarely start with full control. They get a foothold with low privileges and then exploit a bug or misconfiguration to become administrator or root. Escalation flaws are often chained with a remote flaw to complete a takeover.
