PKI
Public key infrastructure
The system of keys, certificates and authorities that lets strangers on a network trust each other's identity.
Public key infrastructure binds identities to public keys through certificates signed by trusted authorities, and handles their issuance, renewal and revocation. TLS on the web, code signing and many corporate logins all rely on it.
