Command and control
C2
The servers attackers use to send instructions to their malware and receive stolen data.
Malware checks in with its command-and-control (C2) infrastructure for tasks. Finding and blocking C2 domains and addresses cuts attackers off, which is why threat reports list them as indicators of compromise.
